Discover Issues and Errors made Before a Document was Posted

Errors in posted documents can lead to a time-consuming process of tracking what happened and why. With Pre-Posting Tracking from BC X-RAY, you gain full control all changes made to a document BEFORE it was posted, with just one click.

This feature allows you to see exactly what’s changes was made, by whom, when and if our Reason Tracking has been activated for the field, you will also know exactly why the change was made. This helps your team quickly understand why a posted document has e.g. a payment term on a posted sales invoice is different then what was setup on the customer card.

What Is Pre-Posting Tracking?

Pre-Posting Tracking allows you to review and audit changes made to a business documents before posting in Business Central. This includes sales orders, purchase invoices, journals, and more.

It’s your last line of defense to find and understand unusual changes on such documents.

With Pre-Posting Tracking you can:

 

Identify unwanted changes done to header and lines before posting

identify if data was wrong on master data or changed by users on documents

Identify changes made based on client requests

How it works

1) Activate Pre-Posting Tracking for the document types you want to monitor.

2) BC X-RAY logs all relevant field changes made between document creation and posting.

3) After posting, users (or supervisors) can review:

  • What was changed on header and lines on un-posted document
  • Who changed it
  • When the change occurred
  • Original vs. new value
  • Why it was changed (requires activated or our Reason Tracking feature)

Everything is fully configurable, and it runs natively inside Business Central.
